Four police officers were injured after two alleged attacks in Denbighshire over the weekend.

North Wales Police say two men have been charged with assaulting three PCs and a community support officer during separate incidents in Rhyl and Bodelwyddan. The officers involved suffered only minor injuries.

Deputy Chief Constable Gareth Pritchard tweeted the circumstances surrounding the attacks were ”completely unacceptable” and left police with more work to ”protect those who serve the public”.

There are no further details available.
