Alzheimer’s Society: Dementia Awareness Week

This week from Monday 16th – Friday 21st May is Dementia Awareness Week

There are 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK.  Alzheimer’s Society is here for anyone who is affected and there are lots of ways they can help.

If you’re worried that you, or someone close to you, might have dementia, you may be feeling scared or hoping that the problem will go away.  But the earlier you seek help, the sooner you’ll know what you’re up against and be able to get the support you need.

Point FM presenter Lizzie Lawton spoke to Alzhiemer’s Society Befriending Manager Lorraine Edwards about Dementia Awareness Week and the support and help available, you can listen again below.

If you wish to find out more about becoming a Befriending Volunteer in the North Wales area you can contact Lorraine Edwards on 01745 343 043 or find her at the  Glan Traeth Day Hospital, 2 Alexandra Road, Rhyl, LL18 3AS.
