An appeal for witnesses is being made following a collision in Rhyl as a result of which a woman has sadly passed away following serious injuries.

Officers were alerted to the collision on Russell Road at 4.49pm. It involved a pedestrian and two vehicles – a silver coloured Toyota GT and a silver coloured Volkswagen Polo. Emergency services attended the scene and the pedestrian, a woman in her 40’s, was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan

Sergeant Jason Diamond of the Roads Policing Unit said: “We are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident. As part of this work  we are particularly keen to trace the drivers and any occupants of vehicles travelling along Russell Road at around 4.47pm especially a small silver coloured car. We have traced the owner of the white coloured Vauxhall Vivaro van that was in the vicinity at the time of the accident. We urgently need to speak to the driver of the silver car and any potential witnesses who may have seen the collision or who may have information that could assist us with our inquiries.”

He added: “Anyone who was in the vicinity at the time or who has information is urged to contact officers  at the Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting reference number U103375.”
